The AARST Consortium on National Radon Standards is are pleased to announce public review of a newly proposed ANSI/AARST standard:

MS-QA Quality Assurance for Radon Measurement Systems

MS-QA is now downloadable for review at www.radonstandards.us with deadline for comment on September 3rd, 2018.

MS-QA is the culmination of several years of work to produce a comprehensive standard of practice for quality assurance as it applies to all aspects of radon measurement.

MS-QA addresses both field and laboratory operations for all measurement methods currently used to measure radon in indoor air when evaluating if mitigation is warranted.
With consideration of precedence established in a long list of legacy standards published by EPA, ISO and others, along with experience gained across 30 years, MS-QA represents the first comprehensive review and update to quality assurance standards in several decades.

We take this opportunity to thank the 23 individuals who volunteered and worked on this project along with non-voting aids and chairperson Melinda Ronca-Battista. The consensus body includes experienced representation for the vantage points of radon educators, state and federal programs, field professionals, scientists, radon chambers, manufacturers and laboratories associated with each specific measurement method.
